Coffin Thrill: Vampire Hunter D Fanlisting

Guess what, guess what? I'm too excited to announce this before the official lunch of the site, but I just have to share it. I just have to. I've adopted the Vampire Hunter D fanlisting from Myka. She had it up for adoption and I chance upon the post, one day. Of course, I immediately sent her an e-mail about it. XD

Here's the layout of the upcoming site Coffin Thrill: Vampire Hunter D Fanlisting:

I've spent like days worrying about that layout - wondering what type of layout this time. I started that after I watched Sherlock Holmes this afternoon. I didn't get the inspiration from there though - but Robert Downey Jr. is sexy. XD

Unlike the Lunatic Symphony layout I did before that took me hours rearranging details, I did this one in one whole sitting, including the coding - about 2 hours or so. And then, I spent the rest of the day filling up the about page. I spend more time thinking about what to put there than code this.  I just randomly picked an image I liked best among the scans I currently have - since I only have a few high quality ones. And started from there. While editing this image a bit, I thought, as oppose to a striking shades of colors, a soft feeling would suit it best - since D himself is a quiet, elegant soft-hearted bishie. And since the art (image) itself is already very pretty, there's not much to edit in it.

Btw, isn't the image I used lovely? It's the cover of the 9th Vampire Hunter D novel: The Rose Princess. I've been a fan of Vampire Hunter D since I was a kid. It's one of those childhood anime I used to watch. D is one of my childhood crushes and I used to think that I wanted him for a husband when I grow up. Unfortunately, I didn't grow. *sob*  I also remembered owning a VCD copy of the Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust too. I'm trilled to be allowed to adopt this fanlisting. Every time I think about it, it makes my day brighter and brighter and brighter. x3

PS: I'll fill you guys in with the link when everything else is done. ;)

Please join Coffin Thrill: Vampire Hunter D Fanlisting!

Don't Pick On It, Wise-ass!

I'm sorry if I can't be like other designers who has totally kick ass web designs. I know my blog design is plain. But I like simple, clean and organized designs more than anything. And it's in XHTML standard too that makes it, hopefully, work in different browsers despite that it's a 4 year old design.

Don't pick on it, wise-ass. *pout*

Prompt

Be blinded by  my newly made WordPress theme that is GREEN! I made that theme for kuya Jay, btw.

prompt prompt2

Yes, that super green theme was on purpose. It's supposed to give you a geeky kind of feeling that is "prompt," seriously. It's modeled after a prompt screen, obviously. The MS prompt's usual black and white is boring.

This is also my third one-column layout. I'm loving the structure of it. I guess I just got used to the usual 2 column layout. I coded it using the old style WordPress theming - yes, not widget. I might recode it later and add the widget feature. But as of now, that's that.

You can temporarily see the working layout at my guinea pig blog until I could find a better place to move it to. XD

New Favicons

Just in case you haven't noticed, I made a new favicon for my domain, Beyond Eternal. To be honest, I'm getting tired of using my face as a favicon too.

It all started with the idea of making a favicon for the official website/fansite of L†L: Louie and Louise. And I ended up with making a rather more general themed favicon and since it looks nice, I started wanting it for Beyond Eternal rather than just for the L†L site's use. Then after, I thought of a good idea for a favicon for L†L.

Here's how the favicons look, zoomed in at 800%:

They looked 100x way better when small, since they're supposed to viewed small - in16x16 pixels, to be exact. ^^;

Anyway, I'm pretty happy at how it turned out, all thanks to the PEPgenious10 pixel font by PEPLUM where I got the skull pixel from. I was trying to draw the skull figure but got lazy so I started to surf DaFont looking for a good bitmap font that I cold use for the favicon and found that font by chance. Lucky~☆ (^_^)V

Lunatic Symphony: A GPKISM Fanlisting

I have made a fanlisting for GPKISM! And I named it Lunatic Symphony! If you're a fan of GPKISM, please consider joining! (^_^)/

I wanted this to become the official fanlisting at some point, but of course, I'll have to ask GPK for permission.
(Edit: It's been approved to be an Official Fanlisting and by GPK, himself too!)

Well, anyway, here's the site's layout:

Yes, yes, it has this Gothic elegance aura, doesn't it? I am very happy with how it turned out, honestly. I'm so happy with it that it makes me want to cry in self amazement. When I got this done, I actually told myself vainly, "Damn, sometimes, I amaze myself." *lol*

It took me a few minutes to crop out each and every image and about 2 hours rearranging the beads here and there to arrive at the point where I could be satisfied with how it looks. And the rest of the day, as well as the rest of another half day, was spent thinking of a name that would fit GPKISM at some point.

When I was making this, I have this desire of wanting it to look something dark and elegant at the same time, simple and clean looking. I spent a few hours cracking my mind on what to do, but then, I couldn't think of a way to show it. I came to a point where I wanted to just draw GPK to let off my frustration, but I was so damn frustrated that I couldn't even draw him properly anymore. I was constantly bugging Jeoffrey that I couldn't draw GPK and ended up working because I couldn't do anything, anyway. Then by around late afternoon that day, the idea of "what about GPKISM as a point of view of a fan?" suddenly hit me. Since I am a fan, it'll be quite easy to make. And then, I made it like that with GPK and Kiwamu's pictures over their CD and of course, my selfish love for Venetian Masks and roses (the rose is dead because I love dead things). The rosary beads, however, was added later on to portray my devotion.
